Awarded: to recognise service in warlike operations for which no separate New Zealand or British Commonwealth campaign medal was issued.

KUWAIT - sanctioned 7 May 1992, for service in the Gulf War. MALAYA 1960-64 - sanctioned 1997, for operations on the Malaya-Thailand border 1960-64. KOREA - sanctioned 1999, for service in Korea between 27 July 1954 and 31 December 1957.
