New Zealand: The Victoria Cross for New Zealand

Ribbon: Crimson. A miniature cross is borne on the ribbon when ribbons only are worn.

Instituted: September 1999 by Queen Elizabeth II to replace the Victoria Cross previously awarded to New Zealand citizens.

Awarded: For outstanding acts of valour or of devotion to duty in the face of the enemy or other belligerents.
